Why throttle your campaign?

The best time to throttle a campaign is when you are sending out messages to a huge amount of contacts and you don't want them all to call you back overwhelming your phone lines. So you throttle the campaign and control the number of calls that is going our per day or per hour so you can easily catch up with the callbacks while at the same time keeping a steady stream of lead generating calls going out in the pace that you want. Just imagine it as a huge Dam and the entire list of contacts is your reservoir and the throttle campaigns controls the amount of water going out while keeping a steady stream of controlled water supply without overwhelming the canals below.

So this is how the throttled campaign looks like:

You can find this on step 4 when creating the voice campaign where you configure when you are sending out the voice message. You can choose to Start Immediately, Schedule later or Throttle campaign. In this article we will discuss how to throttle the campaign. At this stage this throttle campaign is only available with voicemails campaigns.

A ► This is the radio button to select to go to the throttle campaign screen.
B ► This is the total number of contacts you have in the contact group selected for this campaign.
C ► This is where you select the timezone.
D ► This is where you select which caller ID to use or to keep it private.
E ► This is where you set the throttled number of calls is per day or per hour.
F ► This is where you choose the start time of the campaign. If you choose per hour you have to choose a window of time it will be sending out like in this image we choose the 9 am - 5 am window, that is a total of 10 calls for 9 hours which is 90 calls in a day.
G ► This is the calendar where you click which dates you would like them to make the calls. Selected dates will be highlighted in blue.
H ► This will show the number of remaining days to be selected to complete the campaign.
I ► These will show the dates selected and the total number of calls set to be done on that date.

Once you are done setting it up, you can click on the next screen to continue with the creation of the campaign. Once the campaign is created, it will send the voicemail as scheduled. Usually these campaigns will take a long time to complete so you can monitor the progress in the upcoming campaigns in the Dashboard.
