We’ve recently sought feedback and tips from our power users to compile their perspectives on how they are getting the most out of Trycall along with best practices, tips, and tricks for other Trycall users.
The faster way of sending a test voice campaign to yourself and colleagues before creating the campaign.
Besides the test campaign button on the last page of campaign creation, did you know that you can now send test campaigns directly from the recording page?
Directly access your recordings page like the screenshot below.
You don't have to go through the campaign creation every time you feel the need to test the audio recording you have.
Best way to create a business voicemail. What should I include in my voicemail?
The most common business voicemail as per our clients is the one that has the following:
Introduction - your name and the business you represent.
Agenda - your reason for leaving this voicemail.
Call to action - what you expect them to do if they are interested. (callback, check email, go to the website, etc.)
Closing - thanking them for the time listening to your voicemail and saying goodbye.
Most of the clients would send follow up SMS to failed calls to cover their entire list of contacts. They send either a transcription of their voicemail as an SMS or a short message with the same idea of what they said on the voicemail.
Be authentic and smile when leaving a voicemail.
It’s a fact that people can hear a smile through the telephone. When your smile can be heard, chances are you convey the right image. The one that your customers expect and appreciate and help you establish a rapport.
Record your voicemail on a mobile phone. If you have pods that have a good noise cancellation technology. It gives amazing results.
It is easier and you can do that anywhere. But why do you need noise cancellation? Well most of us would be in an office and background noise are really not that avoidable. Noise cancellation technology works by emitting a sound wave that basically cancels out the noise you don’t want to hear. This essentially creates “destructive interference” and cancels out the input for the listener. As a result, the listener can focus on only the sounds they want to hear. If you really have to use a computer headset to make the recording. Some of our clients are using noise cancellation software for better results. One example is Krisp. Their website is https://krisp.ai/ if you are interested in trying it out.
Record your message immediately after the beep.
After the beep, the recording would start and if there are long pauses it would reflect on your recording. If you have pauses in your recording you want to be removed. You can always reach out to our support so they can cut the audio and then add then back to your Trycall account.
Speak clearly, slowly, and imagine you are talking to one person only.
This technology is created to be perceived that the voicemails are created and sent individually so it works best to imagine you are speaking to individuals instead of a group.
Listen to your message after recording and send a test campaign to yourself or someone else for an opinion before sending them
Once the campaign is out and delivered, there is no way to get them back so it is always a good practice to make sure everything is what you wanted before starting the campaign.
Change messages regularly for your campaigns if the response rate is low.
If you are running a recurring marketing campaign or promotion. Check if the response rate is improving and change the message accordingly as needed. Sometimes a different approach could mean a lot of difference to your campaign. Use hyperlink tracking using google analytics for better results and reporting.
Worth noting is keeping your message within the 20-25 second band with a follow-up SMS is best practice.
Finding the sweet spot of not being too short or too long for a voicemail is what is working for most of our clients. A voicemail up to 30 seconds cost 2 credits and we have found that voicemails that are kept around the 20-25 seconds are most effective in getting a message across that is listened to in whole by the recipient. Check the tips for creating a business voicemail and effective call to action for better results.
Turning on the SMS to passed calls is a great option should you wish to create urgency as sometimes clients listen to their voicemail when it suits rather than when you want them to
This type of campaign would use more credits than usual since you are being charged for both voicemail and SMS but you are reaching out to your client on both phone and text message and if you have an email campaign running in parallel then the more chances of getting your message across. One good thing about SMS follow up is that you can send hyperlinks directly to them that they can easily click using their phones.
Throttle your calls is a great option if sending to a large database particularly if clients call back and there's no one around to respond.
Controlling the number of calls that go out per day or per hour is the best way to get your calls out especially if you are expecting people to call you back as your call to action. It gives you more time to attend to each call without rushing to the next one. It also gives you the chance to make the calls go out when you have some free time to attend to the callbacks.
